Smilegate Future Lab said on the 27th that it successfully wrapped up the game jam "Beaver Jam with Naver Webtoon," held in partnership with Naver Webtoon.
The game jam was held over three days and two nights from the 24th to the 26th at the Smilegate Campus, with a total of 75 indie game creators taking part to produce games using popular Naver Webtoon intellectual property (IP).
Participants completed demo games by reinterpreting diverse webtoon IP to create original worlds, including ▲ "The Sound of Your Heart" ▲ "My Daughter is a Zombie" ▲ "Shy Tiger Coco." Unity Korea experts joined on-site as mentors, sharing development know-how and improving polish.
On the final day, participants demonstrated their works and were evaluated, and a total of 10 outstanding entries were selected. Titles that drew attention included ▲ "Cheolwang's Chicken" ▲ "Another World Jo Seok," which used "The Sound of Your Heart" IP, and ▲ "Zombie Run" ▲ "Zombie, Were You Kidnapped?" ▲ "Zombie? No, Human Maker!" which reinterpreted "My Daughter is a Zombie." In particular, five games based on the "Shy Tiger Coco" IP received high marks from the judges.
Selected teams received small prizes, and the chosen works will be exhibited in the Naver Webtoon special hall at the indie game and culture festival "Beaver Rocks 2025," to be held from Dec. 5 to 7 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
Hwang Ju-hun, Head of Team at Smilegate Future Lab, said, "It was a meaningful occasion where creators broadened the horizon of imagination by reinterpreting Naver Webtoon's flagship IPs through their own lens," and added, "We look forward to the original games born at Beaver Jam meeting visitors at 'Beaver Rocks 2025' in December."
