OpenAI CEO Sam Altman will not attend the "APEC CEO Summit Korea 2025," which will be held in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, from the 28th to the 31st.
OpenAI said on the 24th that Altman will not attend the APEC CEO Summit.
Altman previously visited Korea twice this year. On Feb. in Korea, he met Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and Kakao CEO Chung Shin-a to discuss cooperation on AI data centers and AI solutions businesses.
He also visited Korea on the 1st and met President Lee, Ministry of Science and ICT Minister Bae Kyung-hoon, Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Chairman Chey Tae-won, and SBVA CEO Lee Jun-pyo. At that time, OpenAI signed separate DRAM wafer supply contracts with Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, and agreed with the Ministry of Science and ICT to promote the development of domestic AI data centers. With SBVA, it discussed ways to support domestic AI startups.
