IT company Bigster (CEO Lee Hyun-jong) said on the 24th that it has officially launched DalphinChat MediGuide, an artificial intelligence (AI) agent for medical institution accreditation evaluations.
Based on a private large language model (LLM), the solution analyzes and summarizes the vast documents needed as medical institutions prepare for accreditation evaluations and provides real-time information to medical staff and administrative personnel.
DalphinChat MediGuide structures thousands of data points such as medical laws and regulations, accreditation standards, evaluation manuals, and case documents using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology to support item-by-item evidence presentation and automated Q&A. Its main features include ▲ accreditation guideline Q&A ▲ accreditation evaluation preparation support ▲ drug calculator ▲ patient status alerts ▲ nursing standards Q&A ▲ indicator setting and analysis. Through this, medical institutions can automate procedures related to healthcare quality such as drafting evaluation documents, verifying evidence, and managing indicators.
Bigster has been carrying out a pilot implementation project with the National Cancer Center since June and is set to complete it at the end of this month.
Lee Jae-dong, Ph.D., National Cancer Center artificial intelligence business team (adjunct professor, Health AI Department, National Cancer Center Graduate School of Cancer Science and Policy), said, "Accreditation evaluations for medical institutions are complex tasks that require interpreting vast amounts of data," adding, "DalphinChat MediGuide is a meaning-based judgment AI grounded in medical knowledge that has improved work efficiency." Lee added, "We have confirmed that AI can enhance the reliability and objectivity of healthcare quality management."
Bigster CEO Lee Hyun-jong said, "DalphinChat MediGuide is the only AI agent solution in Korea that safely and systematically supports medical institutions in responding to evaluations," adding, "It will reduce the burden of evaluation response for medical institutions and provide practical help in improving healthcare quality."
Meanwhile, DalphinChat MediGuide became the first LLM-based solution to be registered as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service. Bigster plans to expand its application scope to small and midsize hospitals and long-term care hospitals and develop it into an AI-based healthcare quality management platform.
