CJ OliveNetworks said on the 23rd that it will build a premium distilled liquor smart factory for "Soju Story." The company said it plans to accelerate the expansion of its smart factory business in the food and beverage sector on the back of this contract win.
The agricultural corporation Soju Story is a subsidiary of NARA CELLAR, which exclusively supplies more than 120 brands and over 500 types of world wines in Korea. Beginning last year, NARA CELLAR made a full-fledged entry into the development and manufacturing of premium distilled soju that modernizes traditional Korean distilled soju, and on Aug. in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the "Agricultural Corporation Soju Story Andong Soju Smart Factory."
CJ OliveNetworks, which has smart manufacturing and logistics technology specialized in food and beverage (F&B) and the bio industry, has joined the construction of Soju Story's premium distilled liquor smart factory. CJ OliveNetworks plans to advance the entire process from raw material receiving to fermentation, distillation, storage and aging, and bottling to ensure smooth flow of raw materials and prevent cross-contamination, and to design efficient worker movement to create an optimal production site.
It also plans to build a factory differentiated for Soju Story by the first half of next year through customer-tailored smart factory design, supply of the latest global infrastructure equipment, and organic cooperation with specialized companies in each field.
Kim Hyun-min, director of Soju Story (head of plant operations), said, "We expect to establish a world-class K-distilled liquor production base based on CJ OliveNetworks' experience and technological prowess in F&B smart factories."
