Artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud software corporations Okestro said on the 23rd that it acquired Datacommand. Datacommand is a corporations specializing in migration and disaster recovery (DR) based on continuous data protection (CDP).
Okestro said it acquired Datacommand to strengthen its "cloud resilience" capabilities, which underpin Cloud-Native and server virtualization environments.
With the recent acceleration of AI and cloud adoption, the importance of redundancy, backup, and real-time recovery systems to prepare for unexpected incidents such as system failures or ransomware is growing, increasing the role of infrastructure software that supports the continuity of core systems and stable service operations. Okestro said, "Through this acquisition, we launched the migration specialist tool 'Contrabase Legato' based on CDP technology that encompasses everything from migration of VMware-based systems to disaster recovery to address the surging demand for cloud transitions, establishing a stable transition environment across diverse settings."
