kt Millie's library said on the 23rd that it released the episode of its original video content "All-time Legend," titled "A cosmic storyteller, Bernard Werber's life book."
"All-time Legend" is a video program planned by Millie's library in which experts from various fields introduce the life books that inspired them and convey the meaning of books and the joy of reading. In this episode, world-renowned French author Bernard Werber appears, and French-born broadcaster Fabien hosts, engaging in an in-depth conversation with the author in the same language.
Bernard Werber picked Laozi's Tao Te Ching, Daniel Keyes' Flowers for Algernon, Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island, and Stefan Zweig's Chess Story as books that marked turning points in his life. He said these works had a major impact on broadening his perspective on humanity and the world and on expanding the limits of imagination.
The video also introduced the new work The Land of Chimeras, which is currently being offered through Millie's library. Set on an Earth devastated after a nuclear war, the novel deals with the survival and conflicts of a new humanity combining human and animal genes, and contains Bernard Werber's characteristic scientific imagination and philosophical insight.
