Korea's reading platform KT Millie's Library said on the 22nd that it will be the first among e-book subscription platforms to introduce six representative works by this year's Nobel Prize in Literature laureate László Krasznahorkai, including Satan Tango.
László Krasznahorkai, the 125th Nobel Prize in Literature laureate, is a leading Hungarian contemporary novelist. He is loved by readers worldwide for unfolding apocalyptic themes and sentiments in a unique style and form. This year, with the Nobel Prize in Literature as well, his representative works saw sales in Korea surge by dozens of times, leading to sellouts.
Millie's library will preemptively release his representative works as e-books among domestic e-book subscription platforms so that more readers can enjoy them faster without waiting. The titles being offered this time are Satan Tango, The Melancholy of Resistance, Last Wolf, and The Advent of Xiwangmu.
Among them, Satan Tango is the author's debut work, won the 2015 Man Booker International, and was adapted into a film of the same name by film director Bela Tarr in 1994. After its e-book release, Satan Tango ranked No. 1 on the Millie ranking, and it was found that women readers in their 20s and 30s read it the most.
