LG Uplus on the 20th unveiled ixi-O 2.0, which integrates artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen personalized features. The company said it has evolved into an ultra-personalized AI calling app that goes beyond simple call logs or repetitive tasks to understand a user's conversational context and provide situation-appropriate answers.
Ixi-O is an AI-based calling app that, in an on-device environment, offers real-time voice phishing detection, call recording and summaries, and visual caller features. The 1.0 version released last year enhanced user safety with an Anti Deep Voice function that caught manipulated voices, and the new 2.0 version adds convenience on top of that.
Newly added core features include: ◇ AI conversation search ◇ AI smart summary ◇ Discover 2.0. AI conversation search automatically finds information users cannot recall by querying past call content. For example, if a user types, "What did my friend say they wanted as a birthday gift last week?" the AI finds the relevant call and presents an answer. It also analyzes emotions and tone during conversations to provide insights that help improve relationships.
AI smart summary automatically organizes call content for the intended purpose. It generates summaries in various types—memos, to-dos, consultations, real estate brokerage, and sales activities—and the results can be edited, copied, and shared. Discover 2.0 is a guidance page that analyzes call and text data to recommend AI features tailored to user patterns, allowing users to see customized information at a glance, such as schedule management and place searches.
For Android users, new features include dangerous URL detection and AI text reminders. The former issues a warning when a user attempts to open a phishing link contained in a text message or KakaoTalk, while the latter automatically recognizes coupons and reservation schedules received via text and notifies the user as the date approaches. The iOS version newly adds a dual number feature that lets users operate two numbers on a single phone. LG Uplus plans to expand the technology through future updates so iOS users can also use the Android version's AI features.
Starting with ixi-O 2.0, LG Uplus plans to evolve beyond a simple AI calling app into an ultra-personalized AI agent that supports all aspects of customers' daily lives.
