A survey found that Wednesday is the day when posting content such as photos and videos on Instagram and sending DMs (direct messages) are most active.

NHN Data said this on the 17th as it announced the "Instagram marketing trends for the third quarter of 2025," analyzed through the Instagram DM automation solution "Social Biz." According to the report, within marketing strategies that typically start on Monday and wrap up on Friday, Wednesday emerged as the busiest day, as content draws more attention and it is a point when a switch is needed between work and rest.

The report is based on an analysis of DM sending trends from more than 3,600 accounts that used Social Biz for about 80 days from Jul. 1 to Sep. 22.

Between late July and early August, the summer vacation period, Instagram users focused on rest and travel, leading to a slight decrease in the number of DMs sent. From early to mid-August, as the vacation season ended, influencers and brands resumed marketing and promotion activities, and users returned to consuming content, showing a rebound.

The post with the highest number of DMs sent in the third quarter recorded 60,900, which was 18,000 higher than the post with the most sends in the second quarter. The average number of DMs sent for the top 100 posts in the third quarter was 9,080.

Lee Jin-soo, CEO of NHN Data, said, "Through this quarter's analysis of Social Biz marketing trends, we were able to confirm that the volume of Instagram activity, including DM sending, is influenced by various factors such as life patterns, seasons, days of the week, goals, and strategies," and added, "NHN Data will continue to provide useful insights through quarterly Social Biz marketing trend reports and advance our services to support all customers' successful Instagram-based businesses."
