KT said on the 17th that it launched the Genie TV Disney+ ModeunG, an IPTV plan that integrates live channels, VOD, and global online video services (OTT). Through a strategic partnership with Disney+, the plan offers about 160,000 VOD titles across diverse genres and has developed Genie TV into an all-in-one content platform.
Genie TV Disney+ ModeunG includes competitive content such as the latest films, JTBC variety shows, and popular overseas series. One new release film is included each week, with The Murderer Report and The King of Kings to be updated in sequence. It also offers classic films such as Batman Begins, Interstellar, and Inception, as well as broadcast content such as Baseball King 2 and The Story of Manager Kim Who Works at a Big Company and Owns a House in Seoul.
KT created a ModeunG-only menu on the first screen of Genie TV so customers can easily check content and watch immediately without ads or additional payments. The same service is available on mobile and tablet devices through the Genie TV Mobile app.
There are two plans. △ Genie TV ModeunG (17,600 won) provides more than 250 live channels and VOD including the latest films, TV variety shows, and overseas series, and △ Genie TV Disney+ ModeunG (21,500 won, based on an internet+IPTV bundle with a 3-year contract) adds the Disney+ Standard OTT service.
To mark the launch, KT is offering a monthly 1,600-won discount to customers who subscribe to Genie TV Disney+ ModeunG, and will also give special Disney goods to the first 1,000 people who sign up online at KT.com.
KT plans to expand various partnerships to strengthen content competitiveness and broaden its plan lineup. Choi Gwang-cheol, head of KT's IPTV Business Division, said, "Genie TV Disney+ ModeunG will provide integrated services of IPTV and global OTT from a customer-first perspective and grow into a next-generation content platform."
