YouTube said on the 15th that it will add ably, a women's fashion platform operated by Ably Corporation, and 4910 (Saguilgong), a men's fashion platform, as partners for the "YouTube Shopping affiliate program."
The YouTube Shopping affiliate program is a program that supports creators in generating additional revenue. Since its introduction in Korea in Jun. last year, it has expanded its affiliates to companies such as Coupang, Olive Young, and Zigzag. Creators who have joined this program can, starting today, tag products from ably and 4910 in their content as product tags and introduce them on YouTube.
The YouTube Shopping affiliate program allows creators to easily tag and introduce a variety of products in various types of content, including videos, Shorts, and livestreams. Creators who meet certain eligibility requirements can go through a simple registration process, tag affiliate products in their content, and receive commissions.
As of Jun., more than 45% of eligible creators in Korea had joined the program, and as of Mar., product tags had been applied to more than 950,000 videos.
According to YouTube, viewing time for shopping-related content in Korea increased by more than 300% year over year as of Feb., and as of Jul., more than 15 million logged-in users in Korea conducted shopping-related searches on YouTube.
A YouTube Shopping official said, "In the one year since the YouTube Shopping affiliate program was introduced in Korea, more than 25,000 creators have participated," and added, "We will continue to expand cooperation with diverse affiliate partners to provide creators with a wider range of product tag options and viewers with a richer shopping experience."
