Netmarble said on the 14th that it unveiled the new action role-playing game (RPG) "MonGil: STAR DIVE" (developed by Netmarble Monster) at Brazil Game Show 2025 (BGS 2025), the largest game expo in South America. The event was held in São Paulo, Brazil, from Oct. 9 to 12, and Netmarble conducted on-site demos in collaboration with Samsung Electronics.
Brazil Game Show is the largest game exhibition in South America, attracting more than 300,000 visitors every year. Netmarble operated a "MonGil: STAR DIVE" experience zone using the glasses-free 3D monitor "Odyssey 3D" at the Samsung Electronics booth installed on-site. Visitors said, "The graphics and visuals were impressive," and "The monster collection system was unique."
MonGil: STAR DIVE is the sequel to the 2013 hit mobile collection RPG Monster Taming, featuring direction based on Unreal Engine 5 and a monster capture, collection, and synthesis system. It is in development for PC and mobile as well as a PlayStation 5 (PS5) console version, and the console version was first unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2025.
Odyssey 3D is a monitor that delivers stereoscopic images without separate 3D glasses, and through collaboration between the two companies, it provided an optimized 3D experience by applying depth tailored to in-game characters, backgrounds, and scene characteristics.
Netmarble has showcased MonGil: STAR DIVE at major global events, including Brazil Game Show, Gamescom in Germany, and Tokyo Game Show in Japan, and plans to participate in G-Star 2025, to be held at BEXCO in Busan in Nov.
MonGil: STAR DIVE will support 12 languages, including Korean, and Korean, English, and Japanese voice-overs, and global pre-registration is underway. It also wrapped up the second closed beta test (CBT) and is continuing work to improve the game's completeness by reflecting user feedback.
