SK Telecom will begin activating the self-device-only digital communications service "air" starting on the 13th.
The air app (application) can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store from 10 a.m. that day, and service sign-up and activation are also available.
SK Telecom will hold various events, including a bonus pack promotion that gives new line subscribers 19,000 to 32,000 points every month for six months.
The bonus pack event will run from the 13th of this month until further notice for all customers who open a line through new sign-up or number portability in the air app.
Depending on the subscribed plan, ▲ 7GB plan (19,000 points per month) ▲ 15GB plan (20,000 points per month) ▲ 30GB plan (23,000 points per month) ▲ 71GB plan (30,000 points per month) ▲ 100GB & unlimited plan (32,000 points per month) will be awarded each month for six months.
The accumulated points can be used to pay bills up to 5,000 won per month. The point shop in the air app features about 1,000 products across various sectors, including department stores, convenience stores, and Olive Young, as well as shopping and dining. Points are valid for two years.
In addition, as a service launch promotion, customers who subscribe to the 7GB plan can use data at speeds up to 1 Mbps without additional charges after exhausting the basic data for 12 months from the time of subscription. After the benefit period ends, a data speed limit (QoS) of up to 400 kbps will apply. This promotion is available to customers who subscribe by Dec. 31 this year.
Air can be activated immediately when opened with an eSIM. For USIM activation, customers can choose among three USIM delivery options tailored to their situation: same-day quick delivery, same-day courier, or regular courier. To mark the launch, the issuance expense for eSIM and USIM and the USIM delivery expense are provided free of charge once.
A step counter event will also be held. Air line subscribers who turn on the step counter feature in the app and walk a total of just 1,000 steps in a month will receive 1,000 points, and the points awarded increase by 1,000 points for each consecutive month of participation. With four consecutive months of participation, a total of 10,000 points can be earned.
Points are also awarded for joining the air app as a member without subscribing to a line. All customers who sign up as members of the air app will receive 10,000 points immediately upon registration, and through a friend invitation event, a total of 200 teams (400 people) will be selected by lottery to receive 100,000 won in Naver Pay points per team. The friend invitation event runs from the 13th to the 31st.
