NHN Cloud was selected as the state property leasing operator to reinstall 96 systems destroyed in a fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) headquarters in Daejeon.
NHN Cloud said on the 1st that it was selected as an additional colocation operator within the government's public-private partnership (PPP) cloud facility at the Daegu Center. Colocation refers to the physical space in a data center where infrastructure can be built.
The government will carry out the transfer of the fire-damaged systems to the Daegu Center PPP. To that end, on the 30th of last month it held a bid for an additional colocation lease contract within the Daegu Center PPP cloud zone.
NHN Cloud said, "Through this bid selection, we will be responsible for building the cloud infrastructure environment for the transfer of the damaged systems to the Daegu Center," adding, "We have begun procuring equipment for expanding infrastructure, such as servers and network devices, within the currently allocated additional colocation space, along with electrical and telecommunications work."
The Daegu Center PPP, built last year, houses Samsung SDS, KT Cloud, and NHN Cloud, which have secured the National Intelligence Service security certification at the "upper" grade.
An NHN Cloud official said, "We will work as quickly as possible within the target period in close cooperation with the government and do our best to restore the damage."
