Samsung Electronics will launch the B2B (business-to-business) solution SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution, based on the Galaxy Watch, on the 30th.
According to the company, the SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution helps protect and manage industrial field workers' safety in real time by using the AI-based B2B solution SmartThings Pro, which provides optimized management solutions for each commercial space, together with the Galaxy Watch LTE model. It is currently available on the Galaxy Watch7 LTE model, with supported products to expand later.
With this solution, on-site managers can monitor in real time, from the SmartThings Pro dashboard on a PC or tablet, biometric data of workers wearing a Galaxy Watch—such as skin temperature, heart rate, and whether a fall occurred—as well as ambient temperature and humidity data.
When changes in a worker's environment are detected—such as an abnormal heat index or a fall—the SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution automatically sends emergency alerts to nearby workers and safety managers for a quick response. It also helps minimize potential hazards by immediately notifying the worker, nearby workers, and safety managers when a worker enters a high-risk zone preset by the manager.
If a worker recognizes a dangerous situation—such as being trapped in a confined space or detecting a fire—pressing the SOS button on the SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution home screen on the Galaxy Watch immediately sends alerts to nearby workers and safety managers. Afterward, the manager can check the location through the solution and place a voice call, which can help in an emergency.
In addition, the SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution helps improve work efficiency by providing a function to remotely deliver tasks or major notices to employees working at large business sites.
For example, during a heat wave warning, it can send alerts advising caution for heat-related illness and recommending rest, and during a heavy rain warning, it can deliver instructions to inspect safety facilities and messages to watch for flooding via the Galaxy Watch.
Workers can also conveniently check scheduled items at the business site—such as safety and health training or regular facility inspections—via the Galaxy Watch, and managers can send safety messages through nearby displays in consolidation with SmartThings Pro.
Samsung Electronics said the SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution can be used to provide a safe and efficient work environment across various industrial sites, including construction and production sites, logistics centers, the public sector, private corporations, isolation wards, and resorts. It also noted that continuous improvement of the work environment is possible with a systematic, data-based solution.
