OpenAI posted $4.3 billion (about 6 trillion won) in revenue in the first half of this year.
According to the information technology (IT) outlet The Information on the 29th (local time), OpenAI disclosed a financial report containing this revenue to shareholders. First-half revenue was about 16% higher than last year's full-year revenue.
The Information said OpenAI also spent $2.5 billion (about 3.5 trillion won) in the first half, mainly on artificial intelligence (AI) research and development and operating ChatGPT. First-half research and development expenses were $6.7 billion (about 9.4 trillion won). As of the end of June, cash and marketable securities holdings were about $17.5 billion (about 25 trillion won).
The Information reported that OpenAI expects to meet its full-year targets of $13 billion (about 18 trillion won) in revenue and $8.5 billion in cash burn this year.
