Kakao Entertainment said on the 30th that it will join hands with CJ ENM to produce a global K-band.
Kakao Entertainment will unveil a next-generation band through Mnet's "Steel Heart Club," which airs for the first time on Feb. 21. Kakao Entertainment will handle distribution of the program's music and the planning, production, and management of the album by the final debuting band, while CJ ENM will oversee the program's planning and production.
"Steel Heart Club" is a survival-format program in which contestants for each band position—guitar, drums, bass, vocal, and keyboard—gather and compete for the spot of the "last headliner band." Actor Mun Ga-young will serve as MC, and Jung Yong-hwa, Lee Jang-won, Sunwoo Jung-a, and Ha Sung-woon will join as directors.
Kakao Entertainment said, "Please show a lot of interest and support for the birth of a new K-band rookie that will captivate music fans around the world."
