Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil its twice-folding smartphone "trifold" on site at next month's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju.
According to the industry on the 30th, Samsung Electronics plans to showcase the trifold in an exhibition space at the APEC venue.
The trifold is a step forward from the existing two-side-folding "Fold" series, designed so the screen can be folded one more time. When unfolded, it offers a tablet-class large display, while when folded, it is characterized by portability comparable to a standard smartphone.
Although presumed product images have been leaked before, this is the first time the actual device will be revealed.
The industry expects that after Samsung Electronics unveils the actual trifold phone for the first time at the APEC venue, the company could move to an official product launch as early as Nov.
