Big data analytics artificial intelligence (AI) corporations S2W (hereafter S2W) said on the 29th that it participated as a presenter at the world's most prestigious cybersecurity conference, Virus Bulletin 2025 (VB 2025), held in Berlin, Germany, from the 24th to the 26th.
S2W has been selected as a VB Conference presenter for five consecutive years since 2021. This year, based on years of research into the attack activities of organizations backed by North Korea, China, and Russia, it presented two studies covering the latest attack cases by North Korean–backed threat groups.
Kim Hyeong-jun, a researcher at the S2W Threat Intelligence Center, revealed the connection between a newly discovered mobile malware, "DocSwap," and the Kimsuky group, a hacker unit under North Korea's Reconnaissance General Bureau. Senior researcher Kim Ji-ho and Center Director Kim Jae-gi said the recent attacks by the North Korea–linked advanced persistent threat (APT) hacking group "ScarCruft" are expanding their strategy from an espionage focus to monetary aims.
The VB Conference, launched in 1989, is the world's most prestigious cybersecurity event where security experts from around the globe share the latest threat trends and research findings.
Seo Sang-deok, CEO of S2W, said, "As a security data analytics corporations that has accumulated unrivaled data and analytical capabilities on North Korean, Chinese, and Russian threat groups, S2W will continue to contribute to the global security ecosystem."
