The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) said on the 26th that it signed a business agreement with IBK Industrial Bank of Korea to strengthen a system for responding to and sharing information on cyberthreats at the KISA Seoul office.
The agreement aims to take preemptive action against increasingly intelligent and sophisticated cyberattacks. The two organizations will jointly promote: ▲ strengthening the cyberthreat information-sharing system ▲ discovering new vulnerabilities in financial software and sharing information on a rolling basis ▲ and regularly operating a cyberthreat response council.
Through this agreement, the two organizations are expected to raise security to the next level by forming a broader cyberthreat response network and, on that basis, contribute to strengthening national cyber defense capabilities overall.
Lee Dong-geun, head of the Digital Threat Response Headquarters at the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), said, "To respond proactively to cyberattacks that occur without regard to sector boundaries, close information sharing and cooperation are more important than anything else," and added, "We will continue to strengthen cooperation across industries and build a safe cyber environment that people can trust."
