Naver Cloud said on the 25th that it signed a business agreement with Daedong to collaborate on developing an "agricultural artificial intelligence (AI) agent."
This collaboration is the first attempt in Naver Cloud's project to build an AI agent ecosystem. The goal is to create real changes in daily life and on industrial sites through AI agents that anyone can easily use.
Starting with innovation in agriculture, a traditional industry, Naver Cloud plans to expand the AI ecosystem to a range of industries, including manufacturing, finance, education, and healthcare.
The two companies plan to cooperate to build agriculture-specialized AI so that farmers can feel data-driven precision agriculture in the field. To that end, they will introduce an "AI call" service in which AI regularly calls farmers to ask about their work and automatically writes their farm logs.
Farmers will be able to secure the records needed for authentication and subsidies applications without having to fill out complicated paperwork. They will also be able to receive pest and disease information, pesticide recommendations, and even weather and disaster alerts.
Naver's advanced speech recognition and natural language processing technologies recognize various regional dialects, making it easy for older farmers to use. The company plans to link AI agents with drone footage, sensor data, and more to increase yields and support low-cost, high-quality production, helping boost farm income.
The two companies also projected that by safely training on unique data such as Korea's soil, climate, and crop characteristics, they can provide AI optimized for farms and contribute to the government's agricultural policy-making and region-by-region crop outlook analysis. They plan to expand services to AI-based farm-work prescriptions based on past farm log data and government agricultural data, developing them into agricultural AI agents.
