KRAFTON said on the 25th that on the 24th, India's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Murugan, visited KRAFTON's Seoul headquarters for a cordial meeting.
This is the first time a minister-level official from India's central government has visited KRAFTON. The visit reaffirmed that India is a core strategic market for KRAFTON and was arranged to explore ways to expand policy cooperation and business synergies going forward.
Minister Murugan, a former lawyer, has expanded influence across Indian society and politics. He currently doubles as Minister of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, leading policy and media strategy. Focusing on KRAFTON's contributions to the local game industry through Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and investments, Minister Murugan pursued this visit to advance the development of the game industry and strengthen cooperation.
At the meeting were key executives including KRAFTON CEO Kim Chang-han and India subsidiary head Son Hyun-il. Participants held in-depth discussions on a wide range of topics, including KRAFTON's success stories and growth potential in the Indian game market, the status of startup investments, and the Indian government's recent policy direction for the game industry. Minister Murugan expressed gratitude in particular for KRAFTON's contributions to India's game industry and its investments in the startup ecosystem, and voiced expectations for future possibilities of cooperation in education and technology exchanges and in the media and entertainment industry between the two countries.
KRAFTON CEO Kim Chang-han said, "It was a meaningful occasion to directly discuss the development of the game industry and directions for cooperation with India's Minister of Information and Broadcasting," adding, "We will continue educational exchanges, local game development, and investments to help advance India's game ecosystem and provide users with a better gaming experience."
