Artificial intelligence (AI) avatar startup GoodGang Labs said on the 24th that it unveiled AI avatars as tour and exhibition guides at Fly Asia 2025, held for two days starting on the 22nd.
Fly Asia 2025 is a flagship Asia startup and investment exchange event co-hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Technology Startup Investment Institute. Participants could simply scan a QR code to connect with an avatar without installing an app and received guidance on the event and local information through natural conversations by voice or text. It was found that they conversed with the avatar for an average of about 4 minutes, going beyond simple information delivery to interact with an AI avatar.
The multilingual support feature also allowed foreign participants to obtain information without inconvenience, earning high marks for usability in global event settings. GoodGang Labs said that as many as about 200 participants directly experienced the AI avatar guide.
Ahn Doo-kyung, CEO of GoodGang Labs, said, "The results confirmed in Busan and Jecheon show that AI avatars can become a new standard for tour and exhibition guidance," and added, "We will establish a new guidance standard that can be introduced immediately at more than about 2,500 to 3,000 festivals, exhibitions, film festivals, and sports and cultural events each year."
