Samsung SDS said on the 22nd that it provided an artificial intelligence (AI)-based simultaneous interpreting service at the Pacific Insurance Conference (PIC), which will be held in Seoul from the 23rd to the 25th.
PIC, the largest insurance industry conference in the Asia-Pacific region, was held under the theme of "leadership in change: a new leap for the insurance industry," and drew about 300 top officials from more than 80 corporations and institutions.
Samsung SDS supported simultaneous interpreting in four languages—English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean—by using its generative AI collaboration solution, Brity Copilot. Participants could choose their preferred language channel through a wireless receiver to listen to real-time interpretation.
This event marks the first case of applying the Interpreting Agent function of the Personal Agent that Samsung SDS is preparing to a large-scale international event. The Interpreting Agent currently supports seven languages, including German, Vietnamese, and Spanish, and is set to expand to 17 languages by the end of the year.
In addition to the Interpreting Agent, Samsung SDS plans to unveil various AI-based work assistants by the end of the year, including briefing, answering, curating, and voice agents.
Song Hae-gu, executive vice president and head of the Solutions Division at Samsung SDS, said, "We will support overseas collaboration by corporations based on the simultaneous interpreting service proven at international events," and added, "We will gradually expand the Personal Agent to back corporate work innovation."
