LG Electronics said on the 18th that it signed a partnership with the National Gallery in London, expanding collaboration with world-class art partners.
LG Electronics recently signed a three-year official corporate partnership agreement with the National Gallery. The official corporate partnership is the most prestigious among the National Gallery's partnerships, and only three corporations worldwide hold it: LG Electronics, the Bloomberg Philanthropies, and the Bank of America. The National Gallery is a world-class art museum that meets more than 4.7 million visitors a year through its collection and holds more than 2,400 works.
As a partner in the National Gallery's modern art field, for which it recently announced expansion plans, LG Electronics will support a range of related projects, including the museum's flagship exhibitions led by leading artists such as Richard Long, a representative British contemporary artist and recipient of the Order of the British Empire; the Contemporary Fellowship, a program that supports artists who have contributed to contemporary art; and "Unexpected Perspectives," an artist talk conducted between curators and visitors.
LG Electronics and the National Gallery will also continue their collaboration through "LG Gallery Plus," introduced via LG Electronics' proprietary smart TV platform webOS. LG Gallery Plus is a TV app service that lets users enjoy content, including artworks, according to their tastes.
Oh Hye-won, executive director of MS Experience Marketing at LG Electronics, said, "We will expand collaboration with world-class art partners and continue activities to promote the differentiated value of LG OLED TV."
