SK Telecom said on the 16th it will hold a free trial event for T In-flight Wi-Fi for customers traveling overseas during the upcoming Chuseok long holiday. T In-flight Wi-Fi is a service that allows Wi-Fi use onboard aircraft, which SK Telecom launched in 2024 as the first among mobile carriers. It simplifies the procedures of existing airline services to enhance customer convenience.
The event is open to any SK Telecom customer planning to depart overseas from the 27th of this month to Oct. 6. Customers who wish to join the trial group can check whether the service is available on their flight on the T In-flight Wi-Fi information page and then apply. SK Telecom will offer a free trial to 300 people selected by lottery, and winners must leave a review on the T Roaming review page after their trip.
Applications for the event can be made from the 17th to the 23rd of this month via the T World notice, and winners will be notified individually on the 25th. In addition, SK Telecom will run a promotion offering T In-flight Wi-Fi at a discounted price through December. Customers on the baro plan can receive up to a 50% discount depending on data usage, and customers subscribed to 24GB can use the service for free.
T In-flight Wi-Fi is offered in voucher and auto-roaming types, and in the case of auto-roaming, it connects automatically on Korean Air aircraft. SK Telecom plans to gradually expand the service. Yoon Jae-ung, head of marketing strategy at SK Telecom, said, "We will help overseas travelers enjoy using wireless data even in the sky."
