WEBZEN said on the 17th that it will officially launch the new MMORPG R2 ORIGIN (Reign of Revolution ORIGIN, R2 Origin) on Sept. 25.
R2 ORIGIN is a reinterpretation of the steady-selling game R2 using Unreal Engine 5. It implements the original's key settings and characters with advanced graphics and direction, and adds new content to offer differentiated fun.
New content includes the growth challenge content Tower of Overcoming and the Reputation system, which provides rewards based on in-game progress such as level and achievements. This maximizes the fun of developing characters. It also supports inter-server competition through the integrated-server competitive content Chaos Dungeon and offers the joy of growing together with a variety of guild content.
WEBZEN opened a brand site in Aug. and released game information while running a character name preemptive reservation event, confirming strong user interest as all servers filled up.
Pre-registration will be available until launch through the brand site, Google Play, and the Kakao Games pre-registration page. Those who apply on the brand site will receive rewards such as Vanguard's Earrings, an EXP booster, and a weapon enhancement scroll, and those who complete pre-registration on both Google Play and Kakao Games will receive additional benefits.
Various events are also underway in the official community to communicate with prospective users, and additional game information will be released sequentially.
