The global taxi-hailing platform "Uber Taxi" said on the 16th that it launched a senior-tailored service, the "Uber Senior account," in Korea.
With this launch, the family account now extends from the existing teen child account to include senior family members.
The Uber Senior account is a service that Uber introduced proactively to respond to the accelerating global aging trend. To help older adults who are not familiar with smartphones use taxi services easily through the Uber app, it simplified the entire process from hailing to boarding and enlarged the font size in the app.
A family member can create a family account in the Uber app and invite parents or grandparents to set up an Uber Senior account. Seniors themselves or their family members can hail and pay for taxis.
Saving frequently visited places such as home, hospitals, and welfare centers allows you to call a taxi faster. Family members can check the senior's trip in real time in the Uber app and contact the driver directly if needed.
The "simple mode" unveiled the same day offers the same intuitive interface even without linking a family account.
An Uber Taxi official said, "Although the use of taxi-hailing apps has become commonplace in Korea, which has entered a super-aged era, many seniors still find them difficult, so we introduced the Uber Senior account."
