Google is teaming up with Musinsa, Korea's leading fashion platform, to promote the use of its artificial intelligence (AI) video creation tool.
Google said on the 16th it will run the "8-second Veo Challenge," an event to create 8-second videos using its video generation tool "Veo 3" with Musinsa, for two weeks through the 30th.
Participants can use Veo to create an 8-second video and share it on Instagram. Using a Musinsa box image, the video should be made under the theme "When you open the box with Gemini, my __ becomes reality!" It can be posted in various formats, including Stories, posts, and Reels.
A Google official said, "This program is designed to give students a chance to use Gemini directly and to let them naturally experience AI technology in everyday life through creative video-making," adding, "We hope Gemini's latest AI technologies, such as Veo 3 and Nano Banana, become new tools for unleashing creativity and imagination in various moments of campus life."
In particular, the short 8-second length reflects the content consumption patterns of Generation Z (born after 1995), who are familiar with TikTok and Instagram Reels, and is seen as Google's strategy to naturally spread AI video creation technology into the daily lives of Gen Z college students.
Anyone currently using "Google AI Pro" through programs such as the Gemini Student 1-year Benefits Support Program can participate. Previously, Google offered a program that provided the "Google AI Pro" plan, worth a monthly subscription fee of 29,000 won, free for one year to college and graduate students.
