Kakao Entertainment said on the 15th that it will unveil four buzzworthy new webtoons for September on KakaoPage and Kakao Webtoon.
First, KakaoPage's "I'm a brave puppy here to save the villainess's sister," introduced on the 1st, is a noble comics webtoon based on a novel by writer Yeoro-eun, who authored popular romance-fantasy titles such as "Don't come to the villainess's stationery store!" and "She's a regret-genre female lead, but her mental fortitude is too strong." The moving narrative of the original is enhanced by adaptation from writers Yudam and Yeonbok and warm artwork by writer Pyuki, reborn as an even more lovable work. Since its release, it has drawn a strong response, ranking No. 5 on KakaoPage's weekly romance-fantasy chart.
KakaoPage's "God-Demon Great Festival," set for official launch on the 21st, is also a noble comics webtoon based on the eponymous web novel by writer Eungeom, which surpassed 60 million cumulative views. Produced by Next Level Studio, the work stands out for its overwhelming artwork and brisk pacing, and with its weighty gravitas, it is expected to draw strong interest from traditional martial arts genre fans as well.
"Art School Ghost Stories," released on the 14th on Kakao Webtoon, is the highly anticipated new work from writer Choi Hee-seon of "Karma," which Kakao Entertainment previously produced as a Netflix series to great popularity. Loved in earlier works for solid story design and suspense, the writer is set to present another distinctive mystery thriller in "Art School Ghost Stories." In particular, as in "Karma," the gripping storytelling—where diverse characters become entangled—delivers sweaty-palmed tension.
Kakao Webtoon's "MeongNyang Family," set to debut on the 28th, is the first webtoon by writer "Yeonderland," who has more than 210,000 followers on Instagram, drawing attention. Yeonderland, who has previously released 100 Kakao emoji sets, has established a position as a creator loved by all generations for a cute, trendy art style and sensibility. In particular, Kakao Webtoon's "MeongNyang Family" focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting anecdotes surrounding the popular characters "Meong-gooni," "Nyang-sooni" couple, and "Mongdori" from the Yeonderland universe, and is expected to gain popularity among the MZ generation.
