Beam Mobility said on the 12th that it successfully held the "Beam safe riding academy" at the Songpa Safety Experience Education Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, 11th.
The Beam safe riding academy is an experiential safety education program independently developed by Beam Mobility with the goal of fostering a safe usage culture for personal mobility. The program is conducted regularly in cooperation with local governments and related agencies in major Korean cities where Beam Mobility operates, and provides systematic education on proper e-scooter riding and parking methods.
This program recruited participants aged 16 and older who hold at least a moped license, and any Seoul resident could participate free of charge. The training consisted of theory and practice, designed to help participants understand and use e-scooters more safely.
In the theory course, a professional instructor explained safety rules, proper riding and parking methods, and regulations related to e-scooters, while the practical course offered experiential training through an actual riding course to prepare for various situations. In particular, participants responded positively because they could learn how to respond to accidents that may occur during real rides through hands-on practice. All participants were provided Beam Mobility credits that could be used during practice.
A Beam Mobility official said, "Going forward, Beam will continue to expand its safety education program and lead a responsible e-scooter usage culture in cities."
