NCSOFT said on the 12th that it will simultaneously launch the new MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) "AION2" in Korea and Taiwan on Nov. 19.
NCSOFT has been taking pre-registrations for AION2 since Sept. 11. On Oct. 16, it will hold a server and character name reservation event, and starting Nov. 16, it will support pre-creation of characters, including PC pre-download and customization.
Pre-registration is available through the official website, Google Play, and the App Store, and all applicants will receive ▲ Pet selection (Zaif/Papis) box ▲ 100,000 kinah box as rewards. In addition, among users who participate in pre-registration by Sept. 14, "G-Star 2025" invitation tickets will be given out by lottery.
NCSOFT conducted a mobile demo of AION2 through the live broadcast "AION2NIGHT" the day before. The developers showcased intuitive controls implemented on mobile phones, emphasizing the game's completeness and a stable play experience.
The in-game business model (BM) was also unveiled. AION2 will offer as main products the "membership" and "pass items" that enhance convenience, as well as "costumes," "weapon appearances," "pets," and "wings" that complete a character's style. It also includes a function to exchange in-game currency for paid currency.
The key PvP (player versus player) content "Abyss" was also revealed. In a demo featuring the popular "Assassin" class from the original "AION," competition unfolded to seize field bosses, artifacts, and Abyss Points. Its hallmark is unrestricted PvP between opposing races, and elements of the original intellectual property (IP), such as Elyos vs. Asmodians PvP and flight circles, can also be found.
During the Q&A session that day, there was a round of questions and answers on topics such as ▲ the background for applying a mobile game-style UI ▲ concerns over introducing teleportation for dungeon travel ▲ the exchange system for the marketplace currency ▲ whether an auto-play system will be applied.
