Global artificial intelligence (AI) startup Liner said on the 11th it will unveil two new research AI agents to improve the quality and efficiency of academic research.
The new research AI agents are "Peer Review," which can simulate the peer review process before paper submission, and "Survey Simulator," which can run virtual surveys using AI personas.
Liner said, "These new agents address key challenges researchers face in experimental design and the final stages of paper writing, helping improve the completeness and quality of their work."
The "paper peer review agent" helps shorten to 10 minutes the peer review period that researchers would otherwise have to undergo over several months before submitting to an actual journal. Five agents—reviewing the originality and innovativeness of the research, evaluating the validity and reproducibility of the methodology, checking logical clarity and consistency, analyzing significance and potential impact, and proposing limitations and directions for follow-up research—compile their review results to offer specific improvements.
Researchers can receive comprehensive feedback on the entire paper as well as commentary on detailed elements such as specific paragraphs or citations.
The "Survey Simulator" is a research agent that survey-based researchers in fields such as social sciences, business, and marketing can use before full-scale experiments. After uploading a questionnaire, researchers can select between 30 and 100 AI personas with diverse demographic characteristics such as age, gender, and region to conduct a virtual survey.
Recruiting a 100-person sample typically takes several days and costs on average more than $150, but using the Survey Simulator, researchers can secure the same data quickly for about $1, delivering significant cost savings. Based on simulations that are completed in an average of under 3 minutes, researchers can identify ambiguities in survey items, unexpected response patterns, and weaknesses in hypotheses in advance, and repeatedly validate various designs at low cost to significantly reduce the risk of experimental failure.
