LG Electronics said on the 10th that it supplied transparent OLED signage and ultra-high-definition micro light-emitting diode (LED) signage, including LG Magnit, to "Newoman Takanawa," which will open on the 12th near Takanawa Gateway Station in Tokyo, Japan.
Newoman Takanawa is the centerpiece building of the redevelopment project around Takanawa Gateway subway station being pursued by Lumine, a subsidiary of East Japan Railway Company, Japan's largest railway operator. It is a comprehensive shopping center with a total floor area of 60,000 square meters (㎡) and more than 180 stores, which partially soft-opened in Mar. and will officially open on the 12th.
LG Electronics installed an ultra-large transparent signage measuring about 380 inches in the North Hall event hall of Newoman Takanawa. Although it fills the space, it maintains an open feeling by installing a total of 16 units of the 55-inch transparent OLED signage model in a layout of 8 units horizontally by 2 units vertically.
LG Electronics' transparent OLED signage is a display that naturally blends into any space with transparency that lets viewers see through the screen. Its modular structure can be connected on all sides to create a transparent video wall with no size limitations.
LG Magnit, an ultra-high-definition signage, was installed at the second-floor entrances in both the North Hall and the South Hall. LG Magnit is a display in which micro LEDs of 100 μm (micrometers) or less—thinner than a human hair—emit their own light and color.
At the North Hall entrance, a vertical LG Magnit measuring 2.4 m wide by 7.45 m high greets visitors with vivid color and picture quality, while at the South Hall entrance, a horizontal LG Magnit measuring 9 m wide by 2.02 m high follows the customer flow to enhance visitors' immersion in the space.
