Samsung Electronics announced on the 8th that its 2025 organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV (SF95) has received the 'Real Black' certification from the German testing and certification organization VDE.
Samsung Electronics explained that this certification once again acknowledges the 'glare-free' technology unique to Samsung OLED TVs. Glare-free technology allows for vivid images to be displayed without concerns of light reflection, even in bright sunlight or under direct lighting.
The 2025 Samsung OLED TV features glare-free 2.0 technology, allowing for improved light reflection control.
The Samsung OLED TV met all criteria in three tests: ▲ the level of viewing distraction caused by light reflection during screen viewing ▲ the surface gloss level of the TV screen with glare-free technology applied ▲ the standards for black level performance.
Samsung Electronics reported that the TV achieves vivid screens without light reflection in bright environments and demonstrates a black luminance level of less than 0.005 nits in dark settings, earning it the evaluation of 'Real Black.'
The certified product is the first in the industry to also receive AMD's 'FreeSync Premium Pro' certification.
Along with the recent NVIDIA 'G-Sync Compatible' certification, the addition of this VDE certification provides the optimal gaming experience and premium TV viewing experience.
Seol Hoon, head of the institutional sector for Samsung Electronics in Germany, noted, 'Obtaining the Real Black certification enables us to offer users a more vivid and immersive viewing experience.'
