Naver and Lotte's institutional sector announced on the 7th that they will collaborate to innovate the AX (AI transformation) in the online and offline distribution sectors. The plan is to integrate Naver's technologies, such as AI and cloud, into the distribution infrastructure held by Lotte's institutional sector to create a new AI shopping experience.
Choi Su-yeon, CEO of Naver, and Kim Sang-hyun, vice chairman and overall representative of Lotte's institutional sector, met on the 5th at Naver 1784 to discuss various collaboration methods. Based on this discussion, the two companies decided to closely expand their collaboration in the future, including ▲ development of a distribution-specialized AI agent, ▲ enhancement of AI digital marketing, and ▲ linking commerce and payments.
First, Naver will integrate technologies such as AI and cloud into the operational processes of Lotte's offline stores, including Lotte Mart and Hi Mart. The two companies will gradually develop distribution-specialized AI agents in four institutional sectors: ▲ shopping, ▲ merchandise (MD), ▲ operations, and ▲ management support. They also plan to sequentially apply this to offline distribution operations, such as stores and logistics centers.
Additionally, collaboration in digital marketing will be strengthened. Naver Cloud's AI marketing solution 'NCLUE' and Naver's digital advertising will be integrated into various channels, including offline displays of Lotte's institutional sector, to enhance AI-based customer analysis and advertising targeting precision.
The two companies will run a joint promotion that rewards 10% points when using Naver Pay money or points for payments at Lotte Mart and supermarkets until the end of the year. They also plan to specify collaborations, such as linking products from Lotte's institutional sector, including 7-Eleven, with Naver Plus Store's 'Now Delivery' service. Furthermore, they are exploring ways to utilize Lotte's institutional sector stores, such as pop-up stores, to expand the offline sales channels for Naver Smart Store sellers.
