SK Telecom will invest 2.2 billion yen (about 207 billion won) in the Japanese startup "TimeTree," which operates a schedule-sharing application, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) reported on the 7th.
According to Nikkei, SK Telecom and TimeTree plan to establish a consortium to share expertise and develop artificial intelligence (AI) features that enhance calendar convenience.
The two companies are said to be considering a feature that automatically searches for tickets or hotels related to entered schedules and suggests the best meeting times by considering multiple people's schedules.
Nikkei reported that this is the first time SK Telecom has partnered with foreign corporations in the AI agent field.
On the 5th, SK Telecom held a K-Alliance Global Meetup in Tokyo to showcase Korean AI technologies and services.
Established in 2014, TimeTree set up its Korean corporation in January this year as its first overseas base. The app has approximately 67 million users and offers a calendar service for "families, couples, and colleagues." Park Chajin and Yoshitaka Fukagawa serve as representatives.
