Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy S25 FE equipped with One UI 8 at the IFA 2025, the largest electronics exhibition in Europe, held in Berlin on the 4th (local time). It will be released in four colors: navy, ice blue, jet black, and white, while the release price will be announced later. The Galaxy S25 FE will be launched sequentially in the U.S. and the U.K. starting from the 4th, and will be available in Korea from the 19th.
◇Galaxy AI enhances convenient daily experiences
The Galaxy S25 FE comes pre-loaded with Galaxy AI optimized for One UI 8. Users can experience intuitive multimodal interaction via touch, voice, and visual input. Through 'Gemini Live', users can ask questions conversationally and receive immediate answers without the need to switch between multiple apps.
The 'Now Bar' displays real-time notifications, music, and routines on the lock screen, while 'Now Brief' provides personalized information based on location, time, and habits. Additionally, the evolved 'Circle to Search' feature instantly provides gameplay tips when items are highlighted in circles during games.
Samsung has implemented a new security solution, 'KEEP' (Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection). It creates different encryption keys for each app to restrict access to sensitive information, and personal data is stored on-device through the 'Personal Data Engine (PDE)' and protected with 'Knox Vault'.
◇ Enhanced camera and editing features
The Galaxy S25 FE features an AI-based 'Pro Visual Engine' that allows for clear photography and videography in various environments. The front-facing 12-megapixel camera supports vibrant selfie shooting, while low noise mode and Super HDR are also available for the first time in the FE series.
The AI editing features have also been enhanced. 'Photo Assist' offers ▲ generative editing that allows for object size adjustments, deletion, and movement ▲ AI profile transformation function 'Portrait Studio'. Video editing supports ▲ instant slow-motion playback of regular clips ▲ 'Audio Eraser' that reduces noise ▲ automatic scene extraction via 'Auto Cut'.
◇ Heat control with a 10% larger vapor chamber
The Galaxy S25 FE has improved performance compared to its predecessor, providing excellent performance in gaming, multitasking, and content editing. Heat control is achieved with a 10% larger vapor chamber, and it is equipped with a 4900mAh battery that allows for long usage. The 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and enhances durability with an 'Armor Aluminum' frame.
One UI 8 is expected to be rolled out sequentially starting in September, beginning with the Galaxy S25 series. It will also support a 7th generation operating system (OS) upgrade and seven years of security updates.
Kim Jeong-hyun, vice president of Samsung Electronics' MX Business Division, noted, 'We will make users' daily lives more convenient and creative through intuitive and personalized AI-based experiences.'
