Rainbow Robotics, a robot platform corporation, announced on the 4th that its four-legged walking robot "RBQ series," equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) walking capabilities, will participate in the "Everland of Oz" fall festival at Everland from the 5th to Nov. 16.
This marks the first instance of a robot participating in a parade, the company noted.
During this event, four-legged robots dressed in performance costumes will showcase various performances to music. The parade will last for 35 minutes along a route of about 600 meters.
The RBQ series participating in the parade can simultaneously perform dynamics-based walking and AI walking, allowing for flexible transitions depending on the situation, the company explained. Even without visual information, it can walk reliably on slopes using only AI walking, and can execute high-difficulty movements such as handstands and side-stands beyond simple walking.
Lee Jeong-ho, CEO of Rainbow Robotics, said, "Participation in this parade is an important opportunity to validate the technology and stability of the RBQ series in a real-world setting," adding, "By demonstrating the robot's performance in various environments, it will serve as a meaningful case study showing the potential for future applications in security, safety, and industrial sectors."
