SK AX announced on the 4th that it has begun the project to build a Shinhan Bank generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform.
SK AX stated that the purpose of this project is to implement a practical work environment where all Shinhan Bank employees can easily utilize AI and to shift the working methods across the organization to be AI-centered. It is a process that does not simply automate certain tasks but reconfigures the working methods of the entire financial organization to be AI-centered.
The core of this project is the introduction of the corporate AI platform 'adot X (A.X) platform,' jointly developed with SK Telecom. The adot X platform provides the 'fine-tuning' feature, allowing various pre-built AI models to be quickly optimized for specific work purposes, and a 'no-code builder' that enables users to complete services by assembling AI functionalities like building blocks without any additional development knowledge. This will prepare an execution environment where any Shinhan Bank employee can easily create and directly utilize the AI suited to their work.
Based on the adot X platform, SK AX will build an 'AI all-in-one portal' that integrates all processes from AI generation to execution and management into one. Employees will be able to search for the necessary AI functionalities within the portal and apply them directly to their work, and they can reuse AI assets organized by work type without setup, facilitating efficient expansion.
AI quality improvements will also be carried out automatically. SK AX will continuously improve model performance by collecting and analyzing user results and feedback data in real-time through a 'closed loop' structure that organically connects all processes of AI generation, operation, and feedback.
The AI execution infrastructure will also be advanced. By applying GPU virtualization technology, it is structured to allow high-performance resources to be stably utilized simultaneously by multiple users and services, creating a high-performance environment where various AI services can operate smoothly.
The security system will also meet financial sector standards, applying advanced security features across the platform, including ▲ step-by-step security pipelines ▲ sensitive information masking processing ▲ access control based on user permissions ▲ audit log management to safely protect financial data.
Kim Nam-sik, head of SK AX's financial business division, noted, "This project is the starting point for redesigning the working methods across the entire financial organization to be AI-centered," and stated, "In the future, we will provide AI technologies suitable for the characteristics of the financial sector, such as enhancing AI branches and AI agents, to ensure effectiveness in actual work settings."
Meanwhile, SK AX has proven its practical-based financial AX capabilities through various financial projects, including NongHyup Bank's digital financial platform, Hana Bank's corporate banking and marketing innovation, and Woori Bank's unstructured data analysis. Based on this experience, the company is positioned to solidify its status as a partner leading AX innovation in the domestic financial sector, leveraging generative AI technology and industry-specific platforms.
