SK Telecom announced on 4th that it has launched a service that recommends optimal health programs for employees of SK Group using the 'Mental Vision' technology, which analyzes users' voices to manage mental health.
This service, 'Check My Mental State', was developed to reflect the reality that office workers struggle to maintain mental health and cope with stress. SK Telecom has introduced the Mental Vision technology, which utilizes a voice-based AI model to analyze users' anxiety and depression from their voices, allowing it to assess an individual's mental state through voice alone.
The method of use is simple. Users only need to read four sentences and align their face with the camera, and based on the results, they can receive a customized health program from the Happiness Wings Training Center. This service is available for employees of SK Group and can be accessed through the 'Happiness Wings Training Center' website or mobile app.
This service was developed in collaboration between SK Telecom and the healthcare startup 'Pleasant Project', and it aims to contribute to improving the mental health of modern individuals through stress analysis.
According to the Mental Health Index (MHI) published by Canada's wellness company Telus Health, South Korean workers recorded the lowest mental health figures among eight countries. The survey found that more than 40% of workers reported feeling depression, anxiety, and isolation, which negatively impacts their productivity.
Through the 'Check My Mental State' service, SK Telecom plans to manage employees' mental health more thoroughly and develop healthcare AI technologies for improving customer health in various fields in the future. In addition, SK Telecom is also developing the 'Vocal Vision' technology, which uses voice analysis to diagnose laryngeal disorders and diseases related to the vocal cords.
Lee Jong-min, head of SK Telecom's Future R&D Lab, noted, 'Starting with this service, we plan to provide technologies that can enhance both physical and mental health for a variety of customers.'
