GAONCHIPS, a system semiconductor design corporation, announced on the 3rd that it will establish a 'global strategy group' for global business expansion. GAONCHIPS has recruited Vice President Woo Jeong-ho, who previously served as the representative of Vision Next, to lead the group.
New Vice President Woo Jeong-ho was responsible for developing system-on-chip (SoC) and application processors (AP), the brains of mobile devices, at global semiconductor corporations such as Texas Instruments (TI) and Qualcomm. Since 2021, he has led the SoC development department at Hanwha Vision and was appointed as the first representative of the spun-off fabless company Vision Next, overseeing both SoC development and business operations simultaneously.
GAONCHIPS highlights its core competitiveness as a 'design solution' that supports the entire process from SoC design to foundry, mass production, packaging, and testing.
The company stated that through Vice President Woo Jeong-ho's addition, its differentiated technological capabilities will be enhanced by global market experience and customer networks, enabling it to effectively respond to high-performance SoC development demands from overseas clients. It specifically aims to accelerate its global expansion in the next-generation high-performance semiconductor market, including AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and automotive semiconductors, while establishing a sustainable growth foundation through long-term partnerships with overseas clients.
Vice President Woo Jeong-ho said, 'GAONCHIPS is already an innovative design solution corporation recognized for its technological capabilities by clients and the market in the next-generation high-performance semiconductor field.' He added, 'I will utilize the experience and network accumulated in the global market to elevate the company's technological competitiveness and contribute to the development of customer-centric next-generation SoC solutions.'
