GoodGang Labs, an artificial intelligence (AI) avatar development startup, announced on the 3rd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with North Chungcheong Province ahead of the 2025 Jecheon International Oriental Medicine Natural Products Expo to innovate in tourism.
The signing ceremony took place that morning at the North Chungcheong Provincial Office, attended by Governor Kim Yeong-hwan, Vice Governor Kim Su-min, and CEO An Du-gyeong of GoodGang Labs, solidifying both sides' commitment to cooperation. According to the agreement, GoodGang Labs plans to provide visitors new experiences throughout the expo using its real-time AI avatar technology.
The AI avatar supports four languages: Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese, helping visitors quickly and easily understand information related to the expo and Jecheon City, as well as North Chungcheong Province tourism.
Kim Yeong-hwan, Governor of North Chungcheong Province, noted, "It is very impressive to communicate emotionally with the public through avatars in an era of widespread AI use," and expressed hope that this agreement will lead to various exchanges and cooperation in the institutional sector related to AI, beyond tourism.
An Du-gyeong, CEO of GoodGang Labs, stated, "Collaboration with North Chungcheong Province is a crucial starting point for cultural and tourism assistant services," adding that they would contribute to revitalizing the local economy and creating a sustainable smart tourism ecosystem.
