LG Display announced on the 3rd that its fourth-generation organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel received verification for 'perfect content reproduction' from UL Solutions, a global leader in applied safety science.
The verification for perfect content reproduction can only be obtained by displays that can reproduce the visual information of original content most accurately, even in a typical living room brightness level of 500 lux.
The fourth-generation OLED panel from LG Display has been recognized for accurately expressing more than 95% of the original video based on 4K resolution (about 8.3 million pixels). Following the 'Perfect Black, Perfect Color' verification obtained at the end of last year, this recent validation proves that the fourth-generation OLED panel is the product that most faithfully realizes the original in everyday environments.
Since OLEDs have a self-emissive structure in which each individual element emits light, brightness and color can be finely adjusted at the pixel level. This allows for stable maintenance of excellent image quality even with changes in the brightness of the surrounding environment.
The fourth-generation OLED panel from LG Display employs a super low-reflection design that suppresses scattering or reflection of external light on the panel surface and inside, allowing it to show the intended screen without interference from external light.
Yoon Soo-young, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LG Display, said, 'In the future, LG Display will continue to present premium displays that provide the best viewing experience in various usage environments based on our unique OLED technology.'
