Samsung Electronics announced on the 2nd that its 2025 model robot vacuum cleaner has obtained the highest grade of 'Standard' in the 'Internet of Things (IoT) security certification' overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).
KISA's IoT security certification is a system that evaluates whether IoT devices such as robot vacuum cleaners, home cameras, and smart appliances are securely protected against personal information hacking or external threats and grants certification grades.
Samsung Electronics received the first Standard grade in Korea with its 'Bespoke AI Steam' robot vacuum cleaner, which was introduced last year, and also obtained Standard certification with the 'Bespoke AI Family Hub', 'Bespoke AI Hybrid', and 'Bespoke AI Hybrid Kitchen Fit Max' refrigerators launched in the first half of this year. It is currently the only corporation to hold the Standard grade, attesting to its security performance.
The 2025 model 'Bespoke AI Steam' robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with Samsung's proprietary security solution, 'Samsung Knox', as well as the trust chain technology of 'Knox Matrix', allowing devices connected through SmartThings to monitor each other's security status and detect and block threats.
Additionally, it is equipped with 'Knox Vault', which separately stores sensitive personal information such as passwords, authentication data, and encryption keys in a hardware security chip, thoroughly protecting user personal information.
The 2025 Bespoke AI Steam new product will be exhibited at 'IFA 2025' held in Berlin, Germany, starting on the 5th (local time) and is scheduled to be released within the year.
