Naver Webtoon officially launched the short-form animation service "Cuts" and announced on the 1st that it is recruiting the first batch of "Cuts Creators" until the 17th.
With the gradual rollout of the Naver Webtoon app completed since the 25th of last month, users can now upload and enjoy Cuts content on Android, iOS, as well as PC and mobile web starting from the 1st.
Through Cuts, Naver Webtoon aims to expand the webtoon ecosystem and strengthen support for creators, launching various support programs throughout the year starting with the first batch of Cuts Creators.
Those wishing to apply for the first batch of Cuts Creators can upload at least one piece of content to Cuts and then submit their application via Naver Form. The 100 selected Cuts Creators will be active from October 1st to December 31st.
Naver Webtoon will provide creative support funds to creators in the first batch who upload more than three short animated content pieces each month, with durations between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. Additional support funds will also be provided based on monthly performance incentives for outstanding creators and during the settlement of accounts.
Kim Hyun-woo, the Cuts content lead at Naver Webtoon, noted, "We will provide diverse support and benefits necessary for creators, from content production to securing fandom. Through this, we will strive to make Cuts a stepping stone for new challenges and experiments for creators, and a service that grows together with them."
