LG Electronics will begin hiring new employees in the second half of this year. Despite the uncertain business environment, the company is adhering to its policy of securing talent to strengthen its future competitiveness.
According to industry sources on the 31st, LG Electronics will recruit new employees for the second half of the year and its academic-industrial scholarship program (LGE Members) through the group's hiring portal 'LG Careers (careers.lg.com)' until the 22nd of next month. The recruitment fields include research and development (R&D) sectors such as robotics, software, materials, communications, machinery, and electrical and electronics, as well as sales and marketing.
Since the second half of 2020, LG Electronics has been operating a regular hiring system that allows candidates to apply for specific roles instead of open recruitment. However, it is also conducting hiring for recent graduates and experienced employees in line with peak hiring seasons, such as graduations, to reduce inconvenience for applicants.
Additionally, starting from the 1st of next month, job and recruitment information sessions will be held at 12 universities nationwide, including Korea University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Sungkyunkwan University, Hanyang University, POSTECH, and KAIST. Current employees and HR personnel will participate to assist applicants' understanding and conduct Q&A sessions.
LG Electronics is intensifying its efforts to secure talent despite the global economic slowdown. In June, the company hosted a 'Tech Conference' in North America, inviting overseas AI field talent, where the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) presented the company's technology vision and research and development strategies. In April, CEO Cho Ju-wan visited Seoul National University to give a special lecture to 200 students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, thereby broadening its connections with outstanding talent.
