LG Electronics announced on the 28th that it will unveil a new robotic vacuum cleaner at IFA 2025, Europe's largest electronics exhibition, next month.
The new robotic vacuum cleaner comes in two models: the built-in 'Hidden Station' and the freestanding 'Object Station.' The Hidden Station is an automatic drainage model designed to connect to a drain pipe, making it suitable for households that lack space for installation. The Object Station, with a table design that fits into any space, can be installed in bedrooms, living rooms, and more for harmonious interior design. This product also allows the robotic vacuum cleaner to be completely hidden inside the station.
The height of the product has been reduced from approximately 50 cm to about 15 cm, allowing it to be installed in the area under the kitchen sink where usage is usually difficult. When not in use, the robotic vacuum cleaner goes into the station.
Both products automatically handle dust suction and mop cleaning, as well as the washing and drying of used mops. For the first time in the world, steam functionality has been applied to both the body of the robotic vacuum cleaner and the station, enhancing cleaning performance and convenience in hygiene management.
The robotic vacuum cleaner's navigation features LG Electronics' own artificial intelligence (AI) object recognition technology. It accurately recognizes the surrounding environment and obstacles through sensors such as AI chips, lidar, 3D cameras, ultrasound, and bumpers, allowing for appropriate cleaning.
Usability has also improved with the addition of voice recognition capabilities. The new product recognizes commands such as 'Start cleaning' and 'Stop' without an internet connection.
LG Electronics plans to showcase a high-performance suction-only stick vacuum cleaner and a cordless stick vacuum cleaner capable of mopping at this year's IFA.
Gwak Do-young, vice president of LG Electronics' Home Solutions Business Division, said, 'We will present a differentiated customer experience in the global market with designs reflecting customer feedback and upgraded cleaning performance.'
