On October 26, the global short-form video platform TikTok announced that it will hold the 'TikTok Awards 2025' at Korea University's Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, on October 25.
The TikTok Awards is a celebration of the achievements of creators and artists who have gained attention through various content over the year, as well as a reflection on TikTok's cultural impact. The 'TikTok Awards 2025,' held for the second time this year, has expanded both in scale and significance. Awards categories include those that reflect the creators and content leading the short-form trend, such as ▲Creator of the Year and ▲Video of the Year, as well as awards highlighting rising talents and social values, including ▲Rising Creator of the Year and ▲Social Impact Creator of the Year. New sections have also been introduced, including entertainment, sports, live music, and Songwriter of the Year. In the artist category, awards like ▲Artist of the Year and ▲Song of the Year will spotlight the continuous global activities of K-pop artists.
Winners will be determined by pre-voting within the TikTok app, and details regarding the schedule and participation will be announced later through the TikTok community. On the day of the event, a variety of programs including a red carpet, award ceremony, and celebratory performances will take place. Not only TikTok creators but also K-pop artists are expected to take the stage to present a festival that combines short-form content with live performances.
Chung Jae-hoon, the head of TikTok Korea's operations, said, 'The TikTok Awards is a festival featuring creators and artists who have inspired the TikTok community throughout the year, making it the most meaningful award ceremony for TikTok.' He noted, 'This year, we aim to create a space where the achievements of creators leading the trends of 2025 and K-pop artists who have promoted Korean entertainment to the world are celebrated together and enjoyed by everyone.'
