LG Group's IT service corporation LG CNS unveiled its next-generation 'agentic AI (AI that autonomously judges and performs tasks)' service, which supports corporate operations across the board. By applying AI to development, recruitment, and finance, it automates repetitive tasks and aids in strategic decision-making. This service has been piloted at LG Display, achieving savings of over 10 billion won in expenses annually, thereby demonstrating the potential for expansion in the corporate AI market.
During a press conference held at LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul, Hyun Shin-kyun, president of LG CNS, stated, "The survival of corporations depends on their ability to leverage AI," and "We have prepared a platform and services that turn AI into an agent for achieving goals and delivering actual results." He noted that "only about 5% of global corporations that have applied AI have seen significant results," adding, "LG CNS will provide solutions that increase the probability of success based on verified field experience."
The agentic AI strategy unveiled by LG CNS is divided into two pillars: the platform 'Agentic Works,' which supports the entire cycle of AI development, operation, and management, and the service 'AX Think,' which handles common tasks such as employee scheduling, email, document management, and translation. Both solutions are designed to be modular, allowing corporations to adopt them as needed.
Jin Yo-han, a senior manager leading the AI Center, explained, "More than 60% of global corporations are currently implementing agentic AI, and already 14% have adopted it fully," noting that "AI has shifted from merely summarizing documents to autonomously achieving goals." He continued, "The next 3 to 4 years will be a transformative period, and how quickly corporations adopt agentic AI will determine their success or failure."
Agentic Works is equipped with six features that enable corporations to apply AI to their operations: ▲Refiner, which trains its own data; ▲Builder, which creates agents and tools; ▲Studio, which deploys services; ▲Router, which automatically adjusts performance and expenses; ▲Hub, which checks operational status; and ▲Knowledge Lake, which organizes and stores internal documents. Corporations can select only the needed features and create agents easily in a 'no-code' environment, where even non-developers can simply choose from the screen with a mouse. This platform has already been implemented in projects with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, gaining recognition for its stability and is expanding into finance and manufacturing sectors, according to the company.
Lim Eun-young, in charge of generative AI business, noted, "Agentic Works provides an environment where current employees can easily create and deploy AI agents," and added, "Deployment can be staggered from utilizing pre-built agents to customized MCP management." He further stated, "The capabilities for Korean tuning and security and compliance responses are differentiated strengths compared to overseas solutions."
The service brand 'AX Think' offers seven functions, including email summarization, automatic creation of meeting minutes, document review and approval, and real-time interpretation. Lee Seung-chan, a senior manager in charge of Digital AX, said, "From the moment employees start their day until they leave work, AI creates an experience of working alongside them as a colleague."
Actual implementation cases were also revealed. LG Display has been operating AX Think since this year for internal knowledge search, automatic creation of meeting minutes, and video conference interpretation services. As a result, work productivity has increased by over 10%, with a goal of expanding it to 30% within three years. The company explained that this was achieved by replacing existing similar solutions, realizing an expense reduction of over 10 billion won annually.
The AI and cloud business recorded 3.35 trillion won last year, accounting for 56% of LG CNS's total sales. Hong Jin-heon, a senior manager, explained that "while the revenue share from Agentic Works and AX Think is still minor, they are the core foundation for transitioning to AI business."
LG CNS also emphasized technological partnerships. It has collaborated with Canadian Cohere to develop the Agentic Works studio module and has obtained AI certifications from three global CSPs (Cloud Service Providers). Additionally, it supplies specialized security solutions 'SecureXpert AI' to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and major banks, proving its reliability in financial and public projects.
President Hyun stated, "The transition to AI is no longer an option but a matter of survival," adding, "LG CNS will support domestic and foreign corporations to adopt AI as quickly and safely as possible based on decades of IT and cloud experience."
